Excellent article. Every time someone calls Hamas’ brutality “medieval,” my hackles go up. They would be better compared to Nazi Germany or the Soviet mass murder of Polish intellectuals or the Lithuanians.
I'm afraid the ship has sailed on that. Will Durant has called it the "Age of Faith" which is a little better, but unhelpfully suggests a contrast to an "Age of Reason." The middle ages seem as reasonable a time as any other. So no, I propose no new names, just better understanding.
